Thank you all for your robust attendance and participation at the CCAS meeting in Las Vegas. The meeting was a great success thanks to the work and dedication of Dr. Jumbo Williams, Dr. Nina Guzzetta, and Dr. Wanda Miller-Hance. For those of you who where unable to attend, a very nice review of the meeting is included in this newsletter.
In keeping with the theme-based approach to the CCAS newsletter, this edition focuses on heart transplantation and includes very interesting reviews on the topic from outside the United States. I would like to thank our European and Canadian contributors to this newsletter as they provide useful and interesting insight into the care of children with congenital heart disease around the world.
Lastly, as I step down as the CCAS newsletter editor after four years, I would like to thank a couple of people who put their faith in me to provide a top notch newsletter to our membership.
Dr. Chandra Ramamoorthy and Dr. Dean Andropoulos entrusted in me the responsibility of delivering an educationally based newsletter for our membership. I am very grateful that I was given this opportunity, as I have met a tremendous number of talented and dedicated anesthesiologists that have made the care of children with congenital heart disease their top priority.
I am quite aware of how lucky I am to have had this position and I hope I have served you well. Dr. Mark Twite, my sidekick for the last four years will be taking over the reins as the editor of our newsletter and I have no doubt we are all in good hands.
I look forward to continuing to serve on the CCAS board of directors and look forward to seeing you all at future meetings.
